Industrial products often ship without coherent telemetry, making field diagnostics and feature improvements harder than they should be. The client wanted a standardized telemetry layer usable across their product lines.
Challenge
Defining a telemetry schema flexible enough for different products yet consistent enough for shared analytics. Handling variable connectivity, OTA updates, and privacy requirements across customer sites.
Approach & solution
We designed a schema with mandatory and product-specific sections, a device shadow for state management, and a queued OTA update flow tolerant of intermittent links. Customer-facing controls let end users toggle data sharing granularly.
Results & benefits
Every new product in the family ships with telemetry on day one, and support teams diagnose field issues with objective data rather than phone descriptions. OTA rollouts complete reliably even on spotty networks.
